hey guys i still have few questions i need answered on my build..i know theres more but i will add as i remember, any help is greatly appreciated

do i lock tite the four head bolts? im talking about the reall long stud ones that hold on the jug and head.

is there a certain way i should have the compression rings facing?

whats the breakin procedure on cp pistons?

is there anything that i can spray on the inside of the cases and engine to clean out anything that got in there that wont harm my motor?

how do i know what shims to use?

i was told the ring end gap should be 20 thousandths.. is this correct? and is that for both rings? because i kinda figured there would be two different gaps

do i need to get a valve job because they were removed?

since this a floating wrist pin im assuming it does not need to be centered?

and is it ok to use my old cam chain?

thanks  Cheers

bryan

I can try to help ...

No loctite on any of the head bolts - just be sure to properly torque.

Breakin procedure is typically a couple of heat cycles followed by short amounts of increased load whileriding then cooling.  This varies from person to person - personally I dont heat cycle, but rather put as much load to the rings as I can directly following installation.

Cleaning cases ... are they apart?  Compressed air works nice as well as carb carb cleaner ... dont let cleaner stay on bearings for too long as some of the bearing retaining rings are plastic & certain brake cleaners & such can soften it.

Better to follow recomended manufacturers suggestions on ring gap.

Shims - install, take a measurement of the lash, then adjust shim size accodingly.

If you put the valves back in their original spots and they were not leaking before - I see no reason you would need a valve job.

Wrist pin ... nothing special here - install (with lube) snap in the circlips & your done.

Yes, it is okay to use old cam chain if there is nothing groteskly wrong with it.
